April 2008:  I finally finished up a contract job that lasted almost 2 years (long for me).  I didn't mind getting small home projects done on weekends through the winter, but it seems like pretty slow going if you can't devote several days in a row.  After a week and a half in Mexico putting a roof on a church, I came back to my place to make some real, visible headway.

Here is the east side - inside and out.  I had put the casement windows in temporarily last fall, but couldn't keep the caulking from freezing.  They went in pretty quick this spring, without much shimming to square them up.  The patio door fit in perfectly with no squaring necessary.  The double-hung window is temporary, because I heard (too late) that 'Windsor' brand windows are junk.  The attempted installation confirmed this, so I'm currently in the market for a Marvin or Andersen replacement option.

And here we have the west side - also inside and out.  These casement windows went in very easily, with no squaring necessary.  The double-casements posed a little problem because of their size, but I managed by using a couple saw horses to guide them in.  The front door was the only unit I was able to completely install last fall.
